ILP offers Italian language courses in Italy in professional and dedicated Italian language schools in Rome, Florence and Calabria.

We employ only native Italian teachers, all of whom have a university degree, as well as specialist training in the teaching of Italian to speakers of other languages. Our students come from all over the world.

Rome

Known as the "Eternal City", is the origin of one of the most ancient civilisations, in which a great number of peoples and cultures of our time take their roots. A city full of beauty, colours, art, culture and with a charming atmosphere full of history. But Rome is not only a city rich in unique monuments, palaces and museums. It is also a modern lively city offering entertainment for all tastes.

Our school is situated in the centre of Rome, conveniently placed for transport to every area of the city, next to the central railway station and short walk from "Piazza della Republica". Located in a trhee-floor beautifully-restored detached residence. The school has a language laboratory, computer room with free internet access, small theatre, video room, cantina-bar, a small garden and a sunny and spacious terrace. During the afternoons the school offers a wide social and cultural programme.

Florence

In Florence we have the perfect location for all lovers of Italian culture and language.

Located 120 kilometres inland from Italy's west coast and 200 kilometres northwest of Rome, Florence boasts a proud history of art and architecture, unsurpassed elsewhere in Europe. An absolutely breathtaking city, Florence has so much to offer to the international visitor that new cultural experiences are offered daily. The streets of Florence radiate the charm of Italian culture. Students from all around the world are discovering the 'Flower' (Florence or Florentia in Italian / Latin) and the birthplace of the Renaíssance.

You will not only find the flair of this city in the numerous museums and palaces, but in the private galleries, bars, cafes and even in the clubs and discos. Anyone who comes here and studies in such an attractive environment and conditions cannot fail to obtain a reasonable grasp of the language and culture.

Whether it is something modern, classical, ancient or rustic, we know that if it comes from Florence it´s "in" and has style. The city is a must for trendsetters, furniture designers, craftsmen, artists, architects and fashion designers - just take a look at the labels of your favourite jackets and your most beautiful cashmere skirts. This is perhaps a result of the interaction between tradesmen from many countries who not only brought their goods but introduced new cultures in the past. The Renaissance influenced this mentality as well as the uniqueness of the language.

The school is ideally situated in a very clean and picturesque part of Florence, just 5 minutes walk from the main train station, "Piazza della Stazione". The school is set against the impressive backdrop of the Tuscan hills. A short walk will lead you to the cathedral square and to the heart of the city.

Calabria

Capo Vaticano is situated on the Calabrian coast, close to Tropea, in Southern Italy. Calabria, which is generally thought of as a maritime region, is actually a long peninsula with some 800 km of coastline, practically all mountainous. Overlooking the clear waters of the Mediterranean, Capo Vaticano is known for its natural scenic beauty, beaches and elegant history. Tropea, the best known town in the area, is only a hop away from Capo Vaticano and is known for its archaeological past, modern-day harbour and rustic houses built on cliff terraces.

The Greeks, the Romans and even the Normans recognized the delight of this fertile landscape across the bridge of the Italian Atlas and remained there for long periods; today well-preserved excavation finds from early settlements, temples, statues and columns give us an almost perfect insight into the traditions and customs of this period.

The school, nestled in the centre of a beautiful orange tree orchard, is open during the summer months only, normally from May through to October. The school is the only one of its kind in the entire region, and is surrounded by gardens, orange groves, idyllic apartments and classrooms. Many of the lessons are taught outside under the trees and it is situated only a few minutes walk from the beach and village centre. The school offers a very relaxed and friendly family atmosphere and the teachers are always available to practice the language with the students - inside and outside the classroom.
